Grade 5 Math: Continue Unit 3: Area, Perimeter, and Multiplication and Division - Basic Facts I can describe and apply mental mathematics strategies and number properties to recall, with fluency, answers for basic multiplication facts to 81 and related division facts. I can apply mental mathematics strategies for multiplication, including: multiplying by multiples of 10, 100, and 100, halving and doubling, using the distributive property.
Health I can demonstrate an understanding of the basic nutrients found in food and the function they serve within the body. I can demonstrate an understanding of the impact caffeine has on the body, health, and performance.
Social Studies: Unit 3 - Socia Structure: I can explain the importance of social structure in a society from the middle ages. Science: Growth and Development: I can describe the nutritional and other requirements for maintaining a healthy body. I can evaluate the usefulness of different information sources in answering questions about health and diet. I can describe examples of health and fitness programs within my community and region. I can describe and compare the techniques used by different people in my community and region, to address their health requirements. I can describe examples of medical techniques that have been developed by other cultures, past and present, that have contributed to knowledge of maintaining a healthy body.
Visual Arts: I can express myself in relation to the world through art-making. I can demonstrate ability and initiative in the use of techniques, technologies, materials and equipment. I can use a combination of the visual elements and principals of design in art making. I can work individually and collaboratively to apply learned skills, solve problems, and express ideas. I can discuss ideas and approaches with sensitivity and respect. I can compare various art forms. I can compare art across time.
Grade 6 Math: Unit 4: Statistics I can create, label, and interpret line graphs to draw conclusions. I can select, justify, and use appropriate methods of collecting data, including questionnaires, experiments, databases, and electronic media. I can graph collected data and analyze the graph to solve problems. I can identify and plot points in the first quadrant of a Cartesian plane using whole number ordered pairs. I can demonstrate an understanding of the relationships within tables of values to solve problems. I can represent and describe patterns and relationships, using graphs and tables.
